On November 14th, 2024, Connor McDavid would reach the 1,000th point of his career scoring a goal on a one-timer pass from teammate Leon Draisaitl in a 3-2 Oilers win over the Nashville Predators. In reaching his 1,000th point in just 659 games, McDavid became the 4th fastest to reach the milestone, the 99th in league history to reach 1,000, and the 4th to do it playing for the Oilers (the others being Wayne Gretzky, Jari Kurri, and Mark Messier). It was a “made for Hollywood” finish for McDavid, able to secure his 1,000th point in front of his home fans with his father in attendance and the goal itself coming off a one-timer pass from longtime friend and teammate Leon Draisaitl.
