On the left side of this image is the greatest hockey player of all time and certainly the best to ever wear a Team Canada uniform. On the right side of this image is the best active player to wear a Team Canada uniform. The two have won a combined 6 international gold medals representing their country. Gretzky’s first international appearance came at the 1978 World Junior Championships, while Team Canada would finish with a bronze medal that year Gretzky would lead the tournament in scoring with 17 points, the most ever scored by a 16-year-old in the World Junior Championships. Gretzky would lead the Canada Cup in scoring in 1981 and 1984 as he would lead Team Canada to the gold medal in the 1984, 1987, and 1991 Canada Cups. In 2013 Connor McDavid would play in the 2013 IIHF World U18 Championships, at 16 years old he was the youngest player in the tournament. McDavid would lead the tournament in scoring with 22 points in helping Team Canada to a gold medal. McDavid would help lead Team Canada to gold in the 2015 World Junior Championships and the 2016 World Championships.
