Japanese Pokémon cards differ from Korean Pokémon cards and English versions in areas like print quality, release timing, and card design. This blog focuses on chase cards from top sets— Pokemon 151, Surging Sparks, and Prismatic Evolutions—to highlight price differences across each region's print run.
Japanese Pokemon Cards vs. Korean and English
1. Pokemon 151
Comparing the Japanese Pokemon card prices against the Korean and English ones, it is clear that the (English) Charizard ex SIR PSA 10 is the most expensive. This is then followed by the Korean CGC 10 priced at $497 and the Japanese at $405. However, it is worth noting that CGC and PSA prices can be slightly different.
2. Surging Sparks / Super Electric Breaker

Comparing the ungraded Surging Sparks Pikachu ex against the Super Electric Breaker versions in Japanese and Korean, the pattern is almost the same. However, the Japanese Pokemon card is priced higher than the Korean version for the ungraded Pikachu.
3. Prismatic Evolutions / Terastal Festival
The PSA 10 Umbreon ex from Prismatic Evolutions has maintained its top position at over $4500, followed by the Japanese and Korean cards from Terastal Festival. For collectors struggling to afford English sets, the next best option would be to get Japanese Pokemon cards as well as Korean.
